    2013 Cobalt 232 WSS – SOLD

    $69,500.00

    2013 Cobalt 232 WSS

The WSS model, Water Sports Series, is not your typical Cobalt. With a professionally designed tower, bold color schemes, drive trim to adjust the wake and much more, this extreme water sports package offers the advantages of a high-end ski/wake board boat with the classic Cobalt lines and signature deep vee hull. Having a boat that can accommodate all of your water sports activities and still be able to handle the rough waters on Tahoe is a true luxury.

Wake boarding and skiing enthusiasts have some very specific performance requirements. Tow boats need to be quick on plane, stay on plane at low speeds, and be able to generate a variety of wake shapes. The Cobalt WSS has the quickest time-to-plane in the industry, averaging about four seconds. Plus, a Cobalt’s running surface will hold it on top at speeds where other boats would mush out.

This 2013 Cobalt 232 WSS came to Sierra Boat in 2017 where it has been serviced and stored since then. The boat is powered by a Volvo Penta 5.7 GXI engine with 315 hp. It has only 178.1 fresh water engine hours and has been meticulously maintained. The boat comes on a 2015 Magic Tilt tandem axle trailer.

    $145,000.00

2014 Chris Craft 28ft Launch Heritage Trim Edition

Chris-Craft harkened back to their mahogany roots with the introduction in 2003 of the retro-style 28 Launch, a high-quality bowrider whose meticulous detailing and classic tumblehome stern set her well apart from anything on the market. Today, the Launch 28 is highly sought after for the unmatched performance and design.

Built on a deep-V hull with a well-flared bow, this vessel can easily handle rougher waters. The cockpit is notable, not just for its plush Ultraleather seating and custom entertainment center, but for its simplicity and comfort as well. The wider Launch 28 includes generous fore and aft seating, with a double-wide captain’s chair that allows the driver to share the view.

This 2014 Chris Craft 28ft Launch was purchased by the seller late in the fall of 2019 from Hideaway Yacht Sales in Michigan where it was a one owner and fresh water only boat. The seller had the boat shipped directly to Sierra Boat where it went into winter storage and was intended to be used in the Spring of 2020. Due to Covid-19 related issues, the seller was not able to use the boat for the 2020 boating season and has decided to list it for sale in the fall of 2020. A survey can be provided that was done for the seller when he purchased the boat in 2019.

This 28 Launch is now a two-owner boat, with an extremely low 164.0 engine hours of fresh water only. The boat is powered by Twin 350 MerCruiser MAG engines with 300 hp each. The outdrives are Twin MerCruiser Bravo III and feature Bravo Three stainless steel three blade propellers.

Features on this 2014 Chris Craft 28ft Launch include; an electric engine hatch that provides easy access to the engine compartment and bimini top, a stainless steel windshield, a pressure water system and transom shower, refrigerator, a Tecma head system with sink, anti-fouling bottom paint even though it was in fresh water only, battery charger, cockpit and bow covers, windlass stainless steel anchor, LED docking lights, selectable exhaust, stereo system with satellite radio, and much more.

The hull paint color is Metallic Cashmere and the interior upholstery is Ivory Cream vinyl. The boat was ordered with the Heritage Trim Edition package with adds teak to the drink holders, cockpit steps, engine hatch walkover, footrests, covering boards, aft grab rails, and swim platform.

For a new Chris Craft, equivalent to this 28 Launch, the base price starts at $250,000. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to own a fresh water, low hour, like new Chris Craft for the fraction of the cost of a new one!

    Miss Catalina 5 1938 Bombard – SOLD

    $225,000.00

    Miss Catalina 5 1938 Bombard

One of the last of the surviving Miss Catalina Speed Boats, Miss Catalina 5 is the only one restored to her original configuration and retains her original Liberty V-12 Aircraft Engine.

One of the last two Miss Catalina’s, number five comes from a line of 29’11” speedboats which were built as fast ride boats operating at Catalina Island. The Catalina Speed Boat Co. was incorporated in 1922 by Alfred Bombard and Wilbur White. The business plan called for these boats to be powered by World War 1 surplus Liberty engines. Twenty of these engines were purchased and served as the only power and spare parts during the 28 years of operation. Alfred Bombard had the hulls built in his company shop and they were built of high-grade Philippine mahogany with substantial framing to withstand the pounding of heavy seas during trips out of Avalon Bay. The look and configuration of the boats changed over the years, and Catalina 5 and 6, are the only survivors. With the business climate changing in the mid 60’s the company was disbanded, and the boats were sold to the Miss Balboa Speed Boat Co. in Newport Beach.

By the late 60’s, Miss Catalina 5 had made her way to Lake Tahoe, and for years, sat forlorn under tarps awaiting a chance at new life. Her savior came in 1979, with the current owner purchasing her from Sierra Boat Company with an extensive restoration beginning in 1982. Spread out over multiple years, the work was completed in 1990. Two areas of the boat needed major work. First, the decks were wrecked and had to be completely replaced. Then there was the engine. Her cylinders were frozen in her bores and a major overhaul was needed. The structure of the hull sides and bottom were in surprising good condition and at one point the entire boat had been overlaid with fiberglass, this actually preserved the structure. We removed the old glass from the bottom, did wood repairs and laid up an extra thick layup of fiberglass using alternating layers of mat and roving cloth. The side glass was still adhering well to the sides and was retained. New leather upholstery completed the restoration.

This is a great opportunity to own a piece of unique California history and re-live the glory days of speedboat rides. Miss Catalina 5 comes on a custom-built tandem axle trailer and has a full custom cover for protection.

    1935 Hutchinson 36ft Commuter Sedan – SOLD

    $45,000.00

    1935 Hutchinson 36ft Commuter Sedan.

Hutchinson Brothers Boat Works, Inc. was founded in Alexandria Bay, New York in a rented building in 1902. A true family business, all four Hutchinson brothers (James Herbert, George, Thomas and Joseph) as well as eleven to sixteen other men worked day after day to build exceptionally crafted mahogany planked boats ranging from 19′ utility boats to 48′ runabouts. From 1902 to 1964, it is said that Hutchinson built over 250 boats including houseboats, racing boats, launches, utilities, sedans, cruisers, runabouts and even boats for the war effort, many of their own design but some based off the designs of other famous manufacturers. They remain very tasteful and more exclusive alternatives to some of the more common Hacker and Chris Craft brands, but arguably just as stylish and with craftsmanship second-to-none!

Columbia is powered by a Mercruiser 8.1S HO with 420 hp. It has an original bottom on it that will soak up. The black sedan top is in excellent condition. The upholstery, deck and hull side varnish, and flooring are in good condition. This sedan commuter has a wonderful inside cabin with a very sociable seating arrangement. It features a driving cockpit in front of the cabin and behind the cabin are two bench seats to enjoy the sun!

Columbia has been in the care of Sierra Boat Company for more than 30 years. This boat has been maintained properly with all service records available.

1946 Glazer E Class Service Runabout – SOLD

    $42,000.00

This is a unique 1946 Glazer E Class Service Runabout.

After the War boat racing really took off. The American Powerboat Association (APBA), had a number of racing classes and among them was the E Class Service Runabout. The rules of this class dictated that the boat be no longer than 16’8″ long, weigh no more than 1,750 lbs., be able to carry a driver and a passenger, and have an engine no larger than 255 Cu In. Typically made of marine plywood these boats could reach speeds of up to 60 mph. This boat is considered a “vintage” racer under APBA rules. For more about this class, go to:

    http://vintagehydroplanes.com/apba_history/speed_records/service_runabout.html

Baby Live Wires was constructed by John (Pops) Glazer, who was a well-respected builder of small racing boats. Baby Live Wires was raced in its earlier years in Buffalo, NY. The engine features Offenhauser aluminum heads and an Offy intake with duel Stromberg 97’s. It also has a Mallory Unilite Electronic Distributor. It is ready for vintage racing or the show boat circuit.

In the Spring of 2016, Sierra Boat did extensive mechanical work to Baby Live Wires. The engine was removed, disassembled and resealed. Heads were removed to check for straightness and cylinders were inspected, all looked brand new. New oil pan gasket, intake, copper fuel line and new gauges were installed. Both carbs were rebuilt. The bottom end of the motor and the reverse gear was disassembled and inspected. The old electrical wiring was removed and replaced with new wiring. Everything was reassembled, repainted and done at show quality detail. A fresh coat of varnish went on the deck and hull sides and the sign painting was touched up.

Baby Live Wires is ready for a showroom or a race!

1947 Chris Craft 20ft Custom Runabout – SOLD

    $89,000.00

This is a 1947 Chris Craft 20ft Custom Runabout.

Completely restored in 2001, it features fully glued construction and modern power. The 20ft Custom Runabout is one of the best post war boats that Chris Craft built. They were very high quality and were a continuation of the pre-war 19ft Custom, AKA 19ft Barrel Back. They have become one of the most collectable boats on the market.

The boat is powered by a 310 hp Mercruiser engine which gives it great performance in the altitude over the stock 158 hp MBL flathead. Besides modern power, several details keep this boat from being a show boat like vinyl upholstery instead of leather. The vinyl upholstery is more practical as it withstands wear tear better then leather. The glued construction makes the wood very stable and eliminates plank movement and water leaking. The decks were freshly varnished in the winter of 2016. It comes on a nice, fitted trailer and has a full waterline custom cover.

This boat has been in a slip each summer at Sierra Boat Co. since 2014. It is turn key and ready to be enjoyed!

    1949 Chris Craft 20ft Custom.

This is hands down one of the finest boats we have listed for sale at Sierra Boat. It was fully re-constructed in 2013 by esteemed restorer Dan Nelson in Minnesota. It is essentially all new, using the correct Honduran mahogany. The boat is entirely glued construction, bottom sides and decks. In four years in California it does not have a single crack!

20 Customs were notoriously under built and the methods used, while not traditional, are the only way to enjoy this model without the durability problems of the original. Correct color and pattern leather upholstery was done by Rod Souza. The original 158 hp Chris Craft MBL has been fully re-built.

This 1949 Chris Craft 20ft Custom comes on a custom fitted trailer and has a full waterline cover to protect it and a custom bimini top.

  1. Hey Mac . Congratulations.
I would like more info on Chris craft if you get a chance .Also are there any Chris Craft boat shows coming soon

  2. I have a 22.6′ boat. What is your fees for Winter Boat Storage? What days does it cover? What additional fees are there (e.g. winterizing/summerizing)? Do you have availability for winter 2021-22? If not, the following year?
