His hands-on designs and special engine configurations were considered the leading technology of the era. Gar Woods are among the most sought-after and valuable boats on today’s classic wooden boat market.

This 1940 Gar Wood Custom Runabout named “Cracker Jack” was purchased by by the Kilpatrick Sales Corporation and received on July 2nd, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri. It was used for recreation and transportation on the Mississippi River in the Clarksville area. In 1964 the boat, along with a collection of antique cars, was involved in a warehouse fire where is suffered damage. It was finally restored in 1984 when the original owners moved to Spokane Washington and had Sid Young of Stan Craft perform the work. The current sellers purchased the boat from the original owners on October 19th, 2012 and transported it from Spokane, Washington to Nevada City, California where Curtis Bauman and Aaron Gack completely restored “Cracker Jack” to its original condition.

“Cracker Jack” is powered by a Chrysler Crown 6 cylinder with 103 hp. It was rebuilt by John Allen in 2012. Stanley Marshall provided the upholstery work using real leather throughout.  The boat features a “no soak” fiberglass bottom which was done during the restoration in 2012 as well. The deck, hull sides and transom varnish are in excellent condition. The upholstery has been meticulously maintained and is original in styling. The boat is protected by a custom full waterline cover and comes with a 2013 California Trailer Works dual axle custom trailer.

“Cracker Jack” won “BEST GAR WOOD OF SHOW” award in the 2016 Lake Tahoe Concours d’ Elegance boat show.

    1965 Century 21ft Coronado.

Believed to be a boat originally sold by Sierra, it has a long history of care at our facility. The Coronado was the most popular boat we sold in the mid 60’s. They are roomy, powerful and well suited to Tahoe’s rough waters. This example has had its original red upholstery changed to tan. The decks were changed as well to match the upholstery. The bottom has been fiberglassed by our shop. This boat is powered by its original Chrysler 413 engine which is a solid performer in Tahoe. Price reduced!

  1. Hey Mac . Congratulations.
I would like more info on Chris craft if you get a chance .Also are there any Chris Craft boat shows coming soon

  2. I have a 22.6′ boat. What is your fees for Winter Boat Storage? What days does it cover? What additional fees are there (e.g. winterizing/summerizing)? Do you have availability for winter 2021-22? If not, the following year?
