    Miss Catalina 5 1938 Bombard – SOLD

    $225,000.00

    Miss Catalina 5 1938 Bombard

One of the last of the surviving Miss Catalina Speed Boats, Miss Catalina 5 is the only one restored to her original configuration and retains her original Liberty V-12 Aircraft Engine.

One of the last two Miss Catalina’s, number five comes from a line of 29’11” speedboats which were built as fast ride boats operating at Catalina Island. The Catalina Speed Boat Co. was incorporated in 1922 by Alfred Bombard and Wilbur White. The business plan called for these boats to be powered by World War 1 surplus Liberty engines. Twenty of these engines were purchased and served as the only power and spare parts during the 28 years of operation. Alfred Bombard had the hulls built in his company shop and they were built of high-grade Philippine mahogany with substantial framing to withstand the pounding of heavy seas during trips out of Avalon Bay. The look and configuration of the boats changed over the years, and Catalina 5 and 6, are the only survivors. With the business climate changing in the mid 60’s the company was disbanded, and the boats were sold to the Miss Balboa Speed Boat Co. in Newport Beach.

By the late 60’s, Miss Catalina 5 had made her way to Lake Tahoe, and for years, sat forlorn under tarps awaiting a chance at new life. Her savior came in 1979, with the current owner purchasing her from Sierra Boat Company with an extensive restoration beginning in 1982. Spread out over multiple years, the work was completed in 1990. Two areas of the boat needed major work. First, the decks were wrecked and had to be completely replaced. Then there was the engine. Her cylinders were frozen in her bores and a major overhaul was needed. The structure of the hull sides and bottom were in surprising good condition and at one point the entire boat had been overlaid with fiberglass, this actually preserved the structure. We removed the old glass from the bottom, did wood repairs and laid up an extra thick layup of fiberglass using alternating layers of mat and roving cloth. The side glass was still adhering well to the sides and was retained. New leather upholstery completed the restoration.

This is a great opportunity to own a piece of unique California history and re-live the glory days of speedboat rides. Miss Catalina 5 comes on a custom-built tandem axle trailer and has a full custom cover for protection.

    1955 Chris Craft 21ft Capri – SOLD

    $47,000.00

This is a 1955 Chris Craft 21ft Capri.

Only 170 21ft Capri’s were built from 1955 to 1956. Even fewer were built with the Chrysler M45 hemi option. Of all the Capri models, this is the most desirable and demand has pushed prices to just under $100,000 for top quality boats.

This Capri has a fiberglass bottom with no leaks. The deck just received a fresh coat of varnish. The boat is powered with the rare Chrysler Hemi engine that was taken to a racing shop and was bored and stroked for more horsepower and torque. The extra power makes this boat perfect for high altitude. Everything is original besides the fiberglass bottom. Interior upholstery is in very good condition and the flooring is in good condition.

This Chris Craft is turn key and ideal for Tahoe!

    $19,500.00

    This is a 1960 Century 19ft Resorter.

The 19ft Resorter is an excellent boat, but most people can’t get past the unusual square nose. After this boat suffered some damage to the bow, the owner decided to rebuild the bow with a proper pointed nose. The repair changed the look of the boat and made it more desirable.

Sierra Boat has maintenance records and has performed the work done on this boat. The deck varnish is in excellent condition and the hull sides and transom are in good condition. The upholstery, engine box and dash gauges were all new in 1998. The boat was last used in 2003 so it had very little use after the work was done. The boat is powered by a Ford Interceptor motor with 250 hp. Sierra Boat fiberglassed the bottom which had some minor repairs done to it in 1999. The fiberglass bottom is solid and is in good shape but will need some repairs before going back into the water.

This Century Resorter is the perfect family ski boat with the built-in ladder on the transom or a great first wooden boat! Price reduced to sell!

  • 1969 Riva 22ft Olympic- SOLD

    1969 Riva 22ft Olympic- SOLD

    $99,500.00

    This is a 1969 Riva 22ft Olympic.

The Riva brand is recognized as an iconic name in the yachting world and is widely collected.  Craftsmanship, unmatchable quality and elegant lines matched with its always functional design all make up the Riva hallmark.

Named after the Mexico Olympics of 1968, the hand built Olympic was the last proper wooden hulled boat to be designed by Cantieri Riva.  Although it continued to be produced until 1983, the majority of the 274 Olympics that were produced were built prior to 1975. The design proved to be both strong and robust, easily capable of coping with punishing sea conditions.

This Riva Olympic, Mia Basillissa, is fully restored and in excellent condition. It is hull number 39 and is powered by a rebuilt Chris Craft 327 engine with 220 hp. The rebuilt engine has less than 100 hours on it. The boat has a new fiberglass bottom on it which makes it leak free. The varnish on the deck and hull sides is in excellent condition. The interior is in very good condition and can sit 4-6 people. The interior also folds down to create a sun pad lounge area.

Mia Basillissa has been to many boat shows around the world and has won Awards at each one. This includes special Riva boats shows in Italy and at Florida and Lake Tahoe.

The boat comes with a custom waterline cover, surrey top, custom Riva cushions and Riva fender covers. Also included is a 1996 DHM trailer that is in fair to good condition.

The boat is currently in a slip in Tahoe City Marina and is ready for a new home!

    1973 Century 21ft Coronado.

Century started building fiberglass production boats in 1966. The first fiberglass Coronado was built in 1969. The Coronado hull remained unchanged when the last were built in 1996. In 1971, ‘72, ‘73 and ‘75 Century offered the hardtop roof in color and in 1973 and ‘75 the hardtop’s color matched the hull color.  Century built its boats in a standard color scheme for each model each year.

Coronado’s built in 1973 were yellow, with brown trim, “walnut” upholstery material, gold upholstered ceilings, and brown astro-turf carpet. This Century is all original from when it was built from the factory in ‘73. It is powered by the original Chrysler Marine 440 engine with 330 hp and 563.3 engine hours. This boat was purchased new from Sierra Boat Co. and has never left. All storage and service records available. Boat was last used in 2016 and was running well.

    1978 Riva 31ft St. Tropez – SOLD

    $72,500.00

    1978 Riva 31ft St Tropez.

Hull number 119 out of 317 built. This boat was completely re-built in 2004. Only 25 hours on the engines since re-build. New plumbing and wiring and all new upholstery. It comes on a custom fitted trailer. The Riva St Tropez 31ft was one of the earliest fiberglass Riva’s built and was intended to be a fiberglass alternative to the wood Aquarama. The hull was designed by famed Italian naval architect Sonny Levi. The styling was done by Riva design chief Georgio Barilani. The look remains as modern today as it did 40 years ago. These boats have wonderful functionality with a useful, small cuddy under the front deck and Riva’s famous “playpen” at the stern. The transom features built-in steps for easy access to the water. The Levi designed hull will eat up the roughest water.

To quote the 1978 Riva catalog, “An advanced design in the wake of the traditional Riva prestige. Swift moving, inebriating runs breasting the waves, exciting slaloms, little cruising’s. The St. Tropez is the prompt answer to every requirement either unforeseen or planned. Sea kind waterlines, a great sun lounge and a day cruiser interior. Functional, handy and reliable: the St. Tropez is destined to equal the everlasting success of the Aquarama.”

This is a great opportunity to own a Riva for a fraction of the price of an Aquarama.
