1959 Chris Craft Continental, 200+ HP Chris Craft V8

Molotov was sold new by the Tahoe Boat Company in July 1959 for $4270. After spending 26 years in light use on the Sacramento Delta, the original owner sold us the boat in 2000. We took her to Sierra Boat at Tahoe (same company as purchased) to repair a small leak in the gas tank. They also found out that she had an intermittent ignition wire. When we picked her up, the harbormaster said, “this boat could have been a f-ing Molotov Cocktail!” Hence, her new name.

In 2001, we undertook a complete restoration of the hull including a new West Systems solid bottom, a full engine rebuild, new upholstery and fittings under the expert craftsmanship of Roy Domke at Runabout Reflections. She was completed in 2002, just in time to be selected to the Tahoe Concours Wood Boat show, where she took a second place. Since then, we have enjoyed many wonderful years cruising and water skiing on Lake Tahoe. Molotov was selected to show again in the 2020 Virtual (Covid) Wood Boat Show and recently in the 2024 Tahoe Concours show. She is still a beautiful and vibrant 40mph ski boat.
