1964 Century 17ft Ski Dart “Tweeter”

The Century Ski Dart ski boat was the prototype of the Ski Nautique and MasterCraft’s flat hull ski boat design. In 1964 they made only 60 Ski Darts with this being the 44th boat they built that year. The 180 hp Ford Interceptor V8 engine sends the boat thru the water at about 35 mph making it an excellent ski boat. The boat is 17’3’’ in length with a 6’11’’ wide beam and a center engine housing making it easy to walk around or to store a ski or swim ladder.

The sellers of this 1964 Century 17ft Ski Dart are the second owners. They purchased the boat in May of 1974 from the original owners who named the boat “Tweeter” after their last name, Birdsong. The boat has never been off Lake Tahoe and has been meticulously maintained and stored at Sierra Boat Co. since 1974. Sierra Boat has all records of work done to this boat.

Tweeter received a second-place trophy at the 2018 Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance and it has been said to be the only Century Ski Dart on Lake Tahoe!

Restored in 2004 and never used due to the seller’s illness. The restoration was done to the highest concours standards and includes: West System bottom, new correct upholstery sourced from A&A marine, re-chromed hardware. and gauges refurbished. The engine has less than 500 hours on it and has been fully checked mechanically. It has a new carburetor and has been fully detailed. It also features a factory swim platform, a rare option. Available, but not installed are dual Spartan air horns, engine compartment storage boxes, and hinged engine hatch for easy engine access. The original drop in hatch is installed. The original rubber flooring is in perfect condition. Custom made waterline cover included. It comes on a 2004 custom built Sport Boat Trailer with disc brakes and storage box.

The mid 60’s Arabian model was vastly updated from the models built in the late 50’s. They were first available in 1966 but introduced mid-year and not in the 1966 catalog. Based on the 19′ Resorter hull, they featured a robust Crusader Marine vee-drive and powerful, 285 hp Interceptor 390 cu in engines. The interior lay-out is ideal with wrap around seating and a fully swiveling helm seat. The aft deck features padded cushions for sun lounging. This boat functions in a very modern way and the layout is still used in many modern tournament boats.

    This is a 1960 Century 19ft Resorter.

The 19ft Resorter is an excellent boat, but most people can’t get past the unusual square nose. After this boat suffered some damage to the bow, the owner decided to rebuild the bow with a proper pointed nose. The repair changed the look of the boat and made it more desirable.

Sierra Boat has maintenance records and has performed the work done on this boat. The deck varnish is in excellent condition and the hull sides and transom are in good condition. The upholstery, engine box and dash gauges were all new in 1998. The boat was last used in 2003 so it had very little use after the work was done. The boat is powered by a Ford Interceptor motor with 250 hp. Sierra Boat fiberglassed the bottom which had some minor repairs done to it in 1999. The fiberglass bottom is solid and is in good shape but will need some repairs before going back into the water.

This Century Resorter is the perfect family ski boat with the built-in ladder on the transom or a great first wooden boat! Price reduced to sell!
