    1955 Chris Craft 20ft Continental.

Fully restored in the late 80’s but never used, the boats varnish is in stunning condition and looks like it just came out of the shop. It features modern V-8 power from a Pleasurecraft 225 hp 502 Ford engine. The bottom is epoxy glassed but will need to be replaced. The decks were fully replaced and are glued to a plywood substrate. 20ft Continentals don’t come up for sale very often as only 221 were built between 1955 and 1957. Early examples like this one have the raked windshield that everyone desires. This is a perfect size boat, not too big, not too small for Lake Tahoe!

    1955 Chris Craft 22ft Continental – SOLD

    $48,000.00

This is a 1955 Chris Craft 22ft Continental.

Since the beginning, Christopher Smith crafted the boats that dreams are made of. Chris-Craft boats became the cultural icons that gave people a new freedom to explore the clear waters of local lakes and distant shores. More than any other brand, Chris Craft was responsible for America’s romance with boats – and ultimately, for redefining boating pleasure for generations of people everywhere.

This Chris Craft is in very good condition. It was fully restored in 2010 and hardly used after the restoration. It received new bottom paint and varnish in 2015. The hemi engine was switched out in the fall of 2017 by Sierra Boat to a rebuilt Chevy small block 5.7L with 270 hp. The interior upholstery and flooring is in very good condition besides one small tear on the engine box. The bottom is an epoxy plywood bottom and is in very good condition with no leaks.

This Chris Craft Continental is ready for a new home!

These late Continentals are very popular due to the fact that they are the last of the full wood decked boats but feature the newly available 283 Chevrolet based engines. This makes for an excellent ski boat, with plenty of horsepower, unlike earlier models that had an anemic flathead six.

This example is an older restoration, but the important work is still solid. It features a west system, full epoxy glued bottom for leak-free launching. In 1992 the engine was upgraded to a high performance 350 block, making over 260 hp. It comes on a custom fitted tandem axle trailer. The upholstery is in good condition and was done to the original pattern. The varnish is showing its age and will need to be re-coated in the near future.
